This class will cover the basics of defense, focusing on drills and essential concepts necessary for effective parries, controlling of distance, and evasion of attacks. In addition, deceptions and preparatory actions to counter the opponent’s defense as well as tactics for dealing with various types of fighters will be discussed. This class will be taught from a German longsword perspecticve, but can be applied to any weapon. Mask, jacket, gloves, and training weapon in good working condition required.
